The Life and Work of an ALT

If you pass our screening process and receive a job offer you will complete a comprehensive initial orientation and training program in Japan before going on to your assignment. Regardless of your prior teaching experience, we will equip you with the practical skills you need to be an effective Interac ALT. Interac ALTs generally work Monday to Friday, with assignments scheduled between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. From time to time, you may be required to work outside of these hours for things like school events.

Prior to arriving in Japan, an apartment is arranged on your behalf as close as possible to where you will be working. The apartments are intended to accommodate one person. Interac will assist in the connection of utilities and associated services.

Our staff will also assist with securing the proper visa and other travel documentation necessary for you to live and work in Japan.
