General and business English instructor wanted

Full time English conversation teacher wanted in Japan.


Teach mostly adults in Business English, ESP, and General English, in-house and at company locations. Students are typically business people, technical personnel and other professionals, company employees, housewives, some university students and the occasional high/junior-high school student or child (subject to special consideration). Lessons are conducted in small groups (up to 6 in-house and slightly larger at some on-site locations) as well as in private classes. Classes are usually either once a week or twice a week.


Teaching location: Matsuyama.

Contract: One-year renewable.

Start Date: September 1, 2017

Hours: 40 hours/week, 25 teaching hours/week, M-F or Tue-Sat

What we offer

Salary: 250,000yen/month.


Accommodation: Crossroads secures a comfortable apartment within a short walk or bike ride from work. We supply basic furniture (fridge, washing machine, kitchen table and chairs, air-con, bedding, etc), and pay the deposit. Our Instructor pays rent and bills (rents range from about 55,000 to 65,000 yen per month). Paid holidays, health insurance, and training.

What we want
  • Native English speaker
  • BA/BS
  • TESL/TEFL/TESOL/RSA/CELTA certification,
  • Two years experience teaching overseas, understanding of “student centered” lessons, and familiarity with sound, current theories and methodologies in teaching communicative English to adults required.


Proper visa, two years experience teaching in Asia (especially Japan), and experience teaching mostly adults General English and/or Business English communication skills preferred. We prefer teachers who are already living in Japan.
